Medicare Commissions for 2027
The 2027 CMS maximums for Medicare Advantage and Part D, how first-year pay, renewals and chargebacks work, and two calculators to see what your business is worth.
See What Your Business Is Worth
Both calculators use the 2027 CMS maximums. Your carrier contracts may pay less.
Estimates only, not a promise of earnings. They use full-year CMS maximums and don't account for proration, carrier schedules, or your contract level.
What Medicare Advantage and Part D Pay in 2027
CMS sets the most a carrier can pay an independent agent per enrollment, per year. These are ceilings, not guarantees. A carrier can pay less, so always check your contract.

How Brock Partners Gets Paid
Carriers pay you directly, at your contract level. Brock Partners is paid separately by the carrier, from the difference between our contract level and yours. Nothing comes out of your check.
Initial, Renewal and Chargebacks
-
Initial Year
The first year a client is in Medicare Advantage, or the year they switch to an unlike plan type, pays up to the initial amount. Carriers pay either the full amount or a share prorated by the months left in the year.
-
Renewal Years
Every year after that, while the client stays enrolled, pays up to the renewal amount (half the initial cap). A move to a like plan type keeps the renewal schedule. Mid-year changes are prorated.
-
Chargebacks
Carriers take back commission for months the client isn't enrolled. If the client leaves in the first three months, CMS rules generally require the full commission to be recovered, with limited exceptions.
The compensation year runs January 1 through December 31, no matter when the client enrolled.
How Other Lines Pay
CMS caps only Medicare Advantage and Part D. Everything else is set by the carrier and your contract level.
Medicare Supplement
Usually a percentage of the client's premium, paid for as long as the policy stays in force. The rate depends on the carrier, the state and your contract level.
Final Expense and Life
A percentage of first-year premium, often with an advance option, and smaller renewals after that. Lapses in the first year can lead to chargebacks.
Under-65 Health
ACA and other under-65 plans typically pay the carrier's set amount per member, usually monthly, while the policy stays active.
Ancillary
Dental, vision and hospital indemnity pay a percentage of premium. They are a natural add-on at every Medicare appointment.
Annuities
Paid as a percentage of the deposit. Write them yourself or partner with our in-house advisors. See annuities and Pillar.
Commission FAQ
What is the most I can earn on a 2027 Medicare Advantage enrollment?
In most states, up to $725 for the initial year and $363 for each renewal year. Connecticut, Pennsylvania and DC are $816 and $408. California and New Jersey are $902 and $451. Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are $495 and $248. Carriers can pay less than the cap.
What does a 2027 Part D (PDP) enrollment pay?
Up to $130 for the initial year and $65 for each renewal year.
What is a chargeback?
When a client leaves a plan, the carrier takes back commission for the months they aren't enrolled. If they leave in the first three months, the full commission is generally taken back. Good fit, good service and a solid needs review are the best protection.
If my client switches plans, do I get a new initial commission?
Only for an unlike plan type change, for example from a standalone Part D plan to Medicare Advantage. A switch between like plan types stays on the renewal schedule.
Does Brock Partners take a cut of my commission?
No. Carriers pay you directly at your contract level. Brock Partners is paid separately by the carrier. Nothing is deducted from your commission.
